AMBC Objectives

The Australia Malaysia Business Council was formed in direct response to the growing need to facilitate the developing commercial activities between Australia and Malaysia.

Two way trade between Australia and Malaysia now exceeds A$3 billion per year” with “A$9.2 billion in merchandise goods and about A$2.1 billion in services per annum and opportunities exist for this to increase significantly.

Organisation

The Council has adopted a locality based chapter structure to better serve the networking and information access needs of the membership. Council chapters exist in most states.

Objectives

The Council is a non profit organisation with a number of important objectives:

To promote trade and good relations between Australia and Malaysia by providing an avenue for contact and communication between business people.

To develop better cultural and social understanding between Australia and Malaysia and to foster mutual investments between the two countries. 

To act as a clearing house for information on trade and investment opportunities between Australia and Malaysia.

To facilitate liaison between Australia and Malaysia on matters affecting services including education, tourism, transport, engineering and agriculture
