Malaysia Australia Business Council

Michael Halpin"The relationship between Malaysia and Australia has been steadily growing over recent years and that with Malaysia's target to move the economy into the high income bracket as evidenced by the tenth Malaysia Plan and the New Economic Model and the impending signature to the MAFTA agreement the spectrum of opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries is broad.

MABC together with its sister organization AMBC are ideally placed to assist its members with issues they may have while talking advantage of these opportunities.

Going forward the focus will be more towards building on our relationships both with the Malaysian and Australian governments and AMBC such that we can work with them and assist in building levels of bilateral trade between the two countries.  While at the same time through these enhanced relationships, we’d be in a better position to assist our members with new business opportunities, and to resolve any issues that may be impeding their businesses."

Michael Halpin
Chairman MABC
