Welcome to AMBCQ (Australia Malaysia Business Council Queensland)
The Australia Malaysia Business Council (AMBC) is a collection of five state chapters presided by a national president who is elected yearly. The Queensland Chapter (AMBCQ) is the largest AMBC chapter, and is extremely active. AMBC Queensland exist to serve the interests of members, and to help to encourage and facilitate trade and investment between Australia and Malaysia. AMBCQ members come from a wide range of industries.
AMBC Queensland - Open, Inclusive and Dynamic
The diversity, gender balance and cultural make-up, and range of activities of successive AMBCQ executive committees are testament to openness, inclusivity and dynamism of our Chapter. AMBC Queensland is the newest chapter, but also the largest and most active. Unlike old-fashioned boys clubs, the AMBCQ is a modern and progressive organisation that believes in merit. An unprecedented 60% of AMBC Queensland's executive committee members are female.
AMBC Queensland - 188 Activities in the Past Year Alone
We get together regularly, and organise or attend numerous meetings, functions, seminars and other events. In 2009, the AMBCQ was involved in 102 events in Australia and Malaysia. This increased to 188 activities in 2010. In 2011, AMBCQ was involved in more than 200 events and activities, prompting the Lord Mayor of Brisbane to announce that AMBCQ is not only the most active chapter in Australia but the most active of all of the Malaysian bilateral business councils in the world. AMBCQ also received high praise from the Speaker of the Queensland Parliament (and former Trade Minister), and the Deputy Speaker of the Australian Parliament.
